My family and I will be traveling to Chamonix at the end of July. I would love any advice on good day trips from Chamonix. Also, any recommendations on smaller villages in the Chamonix area to stay over for one night?

Hi M. - There is a bus from Chamonix (right outside the train station) that you can take over to Courmayeur, Italy. It is a nice quick trip. I thought it was going to be just like Chamonix, but I really did feel like I was in Italy (which obviously I was)....there are a lot of nice restaurants and you can get a good "taste" of Italy....We went to a restaurant there called La Terrazza which was very good....good luck...greg
