My husband has business in Challerange, France. Anyone know anything interesting to do nearby during down time, say, over a weekend? He has been to Paris and Brussels many times. Maybe battlefield tours near Challerange? He is interesed in history, art, architecture, food, and wine. Suggestions? Thanks!
Maastricht is a nice change from Brussels or Bruges. Largest Gothic cathedral in France is Notre Dame de Reims. All kinds of WWI stuff around Verdun. All kinds of neat old towns along the Marne. Epernay is big in the champagne business. Trier, billed as the oldest city in Germany, is two hours away and really, really worth the trip.
Thanks, Ed. I've been researching Trier, and I definitely think he'd enjoy spending a little time in Reims, especially since he will be so close. I'm going to see what kind of battlefield tours I can find in the area, too. Thanks for the suggestions!
