Seems like a long trip from Prague (4 hrs by train) --- may not be a good day trip as I first thought. Is it worth it?

Thanks Steve ~ Will definitely take a look. An 11 hour day is not bad if worth it. We have a total of 4 days in Prague and think we can use 2 for day trips.

Cesky Krumlov is absolutely beautiful. I too recommend you check into a tour for a day trip. Well worth a visit.

Well worth the time. We stayed 3 nights and loved it...was one of the highlights of our trip.
