On the way back from Italy we have 1 night in Paris. I usually stay on Rue Cler in Paris but with a very early morning flight I was thinking we might need to be closer to Gare du Nord. Does anyone have any suggestions on a more central hotel that's not sleazy?
We once stayed in the "New Hotel" with directly across the street from Gare du Nord. I even rolled the luggage cart from the station across the street to the hotel.
The New Hotel is not a place I would choose to spend a Parisien Vacation, but it definitely was OK for 1 night. It was very affordable, clean and central to Gare du Nord and the metro.
If you prefer to stay at CDG, I always stay at Hotel Etap, they provide shuttle to airport, train, economical and very clean.
The full name of the Etap hotel suggested by JS is Etap Hotel Roissy Paris Nord CDG 2. Here is a link: http://tinyurl.com/yrtpda.
ARe you leaving from CDG or on Eurostar at Gare Du Nord?
If CDG why not stay anywhere near St Michel Station( Latin Quarter) as you can just take the RER to airport in am directly.
You guys are great!!! Thanks so much for the advice!!
We do Paris in the beginning and then fly back for a day and 1 night to fly home from CDG.
once again, i say listen to TIM...he gives direct, concise advice....and Etap is a good place to sleep before an early flight
Just booked ETAP - thanks so much!
