Any suggestions on handling the CDW? If purchased for $125 a week still a $1500 deductable. Super CDW adds another $30 a day for our 2 week rental. Travel agent suggest the $9 day for Access America or TravelGuard. Has anyone used the American Express extra rental car coverage for $25/trip and had good luck with it if a problem or any other ideas? Thanks!

I usually go with the American Express coverage. I have never had a claim though. I just find the deductibles on CDW unacceptably high.

I haven't had to make a claim under the Amex insurance, but I have no reason to believe there would be any problem if I did. It is American Express, after all. I've saved a lot of money with this coverage.

I've used both Amex and my Visa card to rent the cars. Visa will provide CDW but other cards like my mastercard will not. I feel better about Amex being there just in case since they have their own insurance company, Ameriprise, which we use for our own cars and homeowners. Never had one problem with them, ever.
