I did this once, but had to skip some important sights.

How much time do you have for your trip?

We are renting a car for a day using Sixti.com and spending a night near St. Mont Michel.

I heard it can be done in a day, but its best to spend the night.

Be sure to get your international driver's permit. Here's a post which talks about it click here

Evyan--

My wife and I did pretty much that same itinerary in April, although we leased a car, so I can't be of help there. In Honfleur, we stayed at the ETAP (French Holiday Inn style) and enjoyed the price savings. It is convenient to downtown and the waterfront. We LOVED Honfleur for no apparent reason except it is on the water, and very friendly.

In Bayeaux, we stayed at Hotel Bayeaux. It's okay. Definitely visit the 360 degree theatre near Arromaches, and go onto the beach there. The American Cemetary is also a must. Very moving. I had to skip Mont. St. Michelle because I use a wheelchair, but my wife absolutely loved it. I did laundry while she went there. Boo. We also loved Dinan, a wonderful old fortified city where we stayed at the very nice Hotel Arvor. Eat crepes when you are there. They are fabulous!

Enjoy
