CD Stores In Munich

Are there any shops in Munich that still sell CD's? I would not have asked this question even 2 years ago but the CD being the vanishing format it is I'm wondering if I should even bother to look.

Are you talking about blank media, or recorded music CDs?

I don't remember specifically seeing one in Munich, but record stores are still fairly common on many of the pedestrian shopping streets throughout Europe. Try looking on Kaufingerstrasse, or one of the streets that branches off from here.

You can buy CD's at Saturn, which is the largest electronic firm in Germany, with stores everywhere. Media Markt is another big electronics store. Department stores also have music sections, so look in Galleria Kaufhof or Karstadt.

It might be tempting to buy them at flea markets, but these will often be pirated copies,

There's a huge bookstore at Marienplatz in Munich called Hugendubel that probably sells CDs. They also have a fair selection of English language paperbacks. They're on the side opposite the Rathaus and near the fountain and S and U-Bahn entrance, close to the Viktualienmarkt. If you google Hugendubel Muenchen Marienplatz the website has a map. They're a chain, so have stores in other cities. The Karstadt I went to is opposite the Hauptbahnhof (main train station.)
