Hello, i was just wondering if anyone had info on the Sunday masses in Munich, especially the Frauenkirche and St Peter's. I would love a high mass, if possible, with the organs and choir and all that. We will be in Munich on sunday January 16. thanks
Just google them and find their website. Every church has a website today. Then you can find the hours and more information about the churches.
thanks Jo, have you attended any of the masses in Munich? just curious about any thoughts people might have
nah, I am not Catholic and I don't live in Munich. I can tell you when mass is going to be in the churches in Frankfurt though. The Kaiserdom here has one of the largest organs in Germany. Fabulous!
Damien, I checked the calendar for the Frauenkirche in Munich (Cathedral of our Lady - Dom). It looks like they only have November details right now but the high mass is Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. with organ music (and possibly the choir, which has 70 voices). They also have musical programs on other days. Unfortunately, it looks like the website is only in German but if you click on Kalender and Dommusik closer to the time of your trip, you can most likely understand a lot of it....

The following is the website for St. Peter....

You can check www.masstimes.org
Good luck on your trip!
Damien - In September I attended a 6 p.m. Saturday mass at St. Peter's. The mass was in German (of course) and I found it interesting that the altar was turned away from the congregation and there was a communion rail (like in the old days). It's a beautiful church.
Carl - good website - thank you!
thanks for the help everyone. All the info is greatly appreciated
