Carnet tickets in Paris

We are going to Paris from a Saturday to a Friday, so I'm not sure the Carte Orange is a great choice. Can I share the ten metro/bus tickets in the Carnet pack with my family or does each person have to have their own pack? My kids are 13 and 9 years old. The 13 would get an adult ticket. Is it ok for a nine year old to use an adult ticket or do we have to get him his own pack? Thanks.

The nine year old can use an adult ticket. Or you can purchase him/her their own carnet (package of 10 tickets) for half the adult price, and use those. Think of a carnet as five round trips, and judge from there whether it's worthwhile. With four people and five clear days in Paris, it probably is.

Ruth, the adult tickets are fine for kids. It's using kid's tickets for adults that's not allowed since kid's tickets are half the price.

You can share the carnet pack. They will give you 10 tickets - the tickets are the normal tickets you buy. Just be careful not to lose them as anyone can use them. Not sure about the kid question.

While your older son would need to use adult fare single tickets, each son qualifies for a Ticket Jeunes. This is a one-day pass good for either Saturday or Sunday for anyone under 26. A zone 1-3 pass costs 3.60€. The pass is undated, but it is only good on the day it is first used. If you buy two for each son on Saturday, don't mix them up.
