I want to rent a car when I leave Lisboa. I do not want to drive in Lisboa any more than absolutely neccessary. What rental location would give me easiest way out of Lisboa for Evora?

We rented a car at the airport and was easy to get out of town from there.

We did the same. As for directions - I don't recall but I do recall it was very easy to get from Lisbon to Evora. Where are you staying in Evora? If you can stay at Albergaria do Calvario. GREAT place, inside city walls but VERY easy to get to/from and has parking under it. The place is great - great food, nice courtyard - we hung out with the owner Peter one night and drank winie and ate ham and cheese sandwiches - he was really nice.
