Thinking about renting a car from DO YOU SPAIN they sound great but we need your thoughts. What about insurance do we just use our own and credit card insurance.
Thanks
It's unlikely that your home car insurance will cover a rental in Europe. It's not the same as a rental in the States. And because of a previous bad experience I would NEVER trust credit card insurance again. You're better off taking the CDW that you can get from the rental company or from a third-party insurer.
Yep, what Nancy said - I agree on all points.
Previous posts are spot on…your own auto insurance policy is not valid and will not cover you in Europe. In addition to the suggestion to purchase CDW, check to see if any travel insurance you buy may already have some collision coverage included (it can usually be added). Plus, you’ll most likely have some coverage through your credit card. Liability should be included with your rental agreement, but you may want to ask about it. When I’ve rented in Europe, I’ve always used Hertz and reserved online from here.
