I know this question has been asked before, but please if anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it. Traveling from Paris to Bayeaux, planning on spending 4 nights touring the Normandy region. Is it cheaper to rent in Paris (CDG) and drive, or train to Bayeaux and pick up a car there?

Train tickets will run about $100/person or more. We decided to rent a car through Auto Europe which is costing about $250 for 8 days. Check it out. Hope this helps. peg

Driving to Caen will cost about twenty-five bucks for gas and the same amount for tolls. You'll pay a slight premium for renting from the airport. You can drive from Roissy to Caen in under three hours, beating the train even if you'd made perfect connections. If you get the car in Caen you will pay for both the train tickets and the car rental on the same day.
