Has anybody been to this festival? Is it as crowded as Oktoberfest and where would you recommmend staying? We may venture over there after Oktoberfest.
Thanks Gary. I'll try that
This questions was just asked and answered on Tripadvisor's forum. I unfortunately can not find the link to it. I would recommend asking your question there.

There is a subforum for Stuttgart which might even be a better place for you to find an answer. There are a couple local members from Stuttgart, especially Marcopolko, who field questions of this nature.

Dan, my husband and I have both been (we were not together at the time, so we had different experiences). We loved it. And we've also both been to Oktoberfest. Not nearly as crowded but lots of fun. Not as touristy as Oktoberfest. I'll be honest. I didn't have an awesome time at Oktoberfest. It was insane. And I was a partying college student when I went, if that puts it into perspective... It was full of Italians and Americans. Myself and another guy got separated from our group (before the cell phone age...) and we ended up having to try to sleep on the floor of the train station until our 5am train back to Stuttgart. BUT, I don't discourage people from going. It's one of those events that everyone should experience once if they have the opportunity. Oh, and I can't really say where to stay in Stuttgart, because we both lived there when we went. BUT, it's in Bad Canstatt, so you may want to take that into account when searching for a hotel.
