We will be in Cannes for one day on our cruise, any suggestions
on what to see in such a short time?We were toying with going to Monte Carlo and Monaco, but that's a 10hr tour and I don't know if it would be worth it.
I believe the Picasso Museum is still closed. The walled old town in Antibes has a good outdoor market.
If you are contemporary art lovers, take a bus to Saint-Paul de Vence and Vence. Saint-Paul is a "perched" (hilltop) village that draws throngs of tourists.
Monaco is quite a distance for a day trip from Cannes. I would recommend see old town Cannes and the Palais d'Exposition (where the film festival is held) and then taking the train to Antibes. It's a great place to wander, the old town walls are remarkably intact, there are some nice beaches, and the market makes a fantastic wander. On second thought, go in the morning to hit the market and come back to Cannes for the afternoon. Monaco is intriguing but, in my opinion, not worth the travel time to get there and back.
That was my feeling also about a long trip,we are now leaning for Nice and Eze around 5HR trip than coming back to Cannes and spending the remaining time there.
Thanks to all for the feedback,
Al
