i have read there may be issues about taking my kids wii to europe and italy.
what kind of adapters will i need for it to work?

I'm just curious why you would WANT to haul a Wii to Europe (Italy is IN Europe). You need to check the power input to see if it is designed for world operation (it should say something like 110-240v). Then you will need a plug adaptor for the country or countries you will be in. What issues have you read about?

sorry meant to say france and italy.
i have read that you need a power converter and the picture also is different
tv in france and italy use pal or ntsc?
america uses ntsc.
as for why... the wii is very easy to bring and gives my kids something to do at night when we are not out
