Hi, due to a semi-damaged passport I am unsure that I will actually be allowed to enter France as the visa page is in poor shape. I will be be flying into Paris (CDG) on sept 8th anyway, and then need to get to Cassis. I don't want to purchase tickets online as I feel like I'd waste a lot of money incase immigration doesn't let me in. Do you know if I can buy a ticket to cassis (by marseille) straight from the airport. if not what would be the best option for me?
Direct TGVs from CDG to Marseille depart at 08:21, 11:42, 12:58, and 13:54. From Marseille you would take a regional train to Cassis.
You can also leave CDG at 09:25 on a TGV to Lyon, change there to a TGV to Marseille, and change there to a regional train to Cassis.
At other times of the day you would need to go into Paris and take a TGV from Gare de Lyon to Marseille and then a regional train to Cassis.
It's an interesting point that you make about not wanting to get an on-line rail ticket for fear that the French authorities will not let you enter the country, but you bought a plane ticket, which costs considerably more than a train ticket, under the same fear. Yes?
