I only have so many days in France. Of course I have time in Paris. But how would you prioritize these areas? I'll probably have to skip one. Provence, Dordogne, Burgandy, Colmar and Charmonix?
So how many days? And are you traveling by camper van, as the title of your post implies?
To be more specific, I travel from Barcelona Spain to Paris and have 9 days to get there. I'm asking for suggestions on which French provinces would be the best to visit on the trip north. I am driving a campervan. Thanks
OK. Thanks. The Dordogne is obvious - on your way north from Spain. I wouldn't try to do Colmar or Chamonix. Just too far the other way. You could cut to the east and see Provence and then get to Paris through Burgundy. In the middle, between the Dordogne and Provence is the Auvergne, which is beautiful and well suited for camping.
Which would you choose? Carcassone to Dordogne to Provence to Chamonix to Paris. OR Carcassone to Provence to Dordogne to Auvergne to Burgandy to Paris? AND if you could only see one, would you choose Provence or Chamonix?
I would choose, Carcassone-Dordogne-Paris. Plenty to see in only nine days, but add the Auvergne if that's not enough for you.
