Camino de Santiago walk

I want to do the last 100 k of the walk to Santiago. That would usually start about Samos or Sarria. I want to hire a company to transport my bag and possibly arrange for lodging each day. The companies I see on the web are all inclusive walking tours with guides. Does anyone know of companies that provide just the basics.

Hello Pam,

La Pelerine is a company that specialises in walks on the Camino, especially self guided walks – they arrange the accommodation, the transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel (be aware of weight & bag limits). The accommodation is at half board which means you get breakfast and your evening meal included. Hotels range from 1 to 3 stars, so don’t expect the Ritz.

Email them for the latest brochure or view it on line at http://www.walks-in-france.com/home.html just drill down to the Spanish section on the walk. At present there are no prices on the web site but they are in the brochure they posted me a couple of weeks ago.

There are three walks they offer to Santiago, one from Leon, one from Oviedo and one from Ponte de Lima in Portugal. They also offer walks starting from France broken into sections.

We have used them for other self-guided walking holidays in France and found them to be very good.

Best of luck

Another outfit to look into is Macs Adventures: www.macsadventures.com Under their pilgrimage listings for Camino Frances is one choice exactly as you want.
