This maybe a silly question but what do people wear when sleeping at night. Keeping in mind the weight in our packs. Also toilet breaks along the way, inbetween villages and such like :)

I would suggest t-shirt and stretchy shorts - jersey knit folds up small.

I think athletic warm-ups make good lounge outfits, you can wear them in public or as pajamas. They also hand-wash and dry quickly. You might check out the movie "The Way". It just came out on video here in the US. You can get some ideas of what to expect and what people are wearing from that.
