I am traveling alone to a hotel in the Rue Cler neighborhood from the train station Gare de Lyon.I've had bad experiences with dishonest cab drivers in Europe before but due to some health issues I don't feel I can take public transportaion with my luggage by myself. Does anyone know of a reliable cab company or car service I should use? Also, any suggestions for good reasonably priced restaurants in the Rue Cler area?
Thank you.
Recently I've taken cabs numerous times in Paris. No problem if you go to a taxi stand; there should be one outside the train station. Get in the cab at the front of the line. It should cost less than 20 EU. Taxi stands exist throughout the city. If you use a taxi from there, don't expect a bad experience. Watch the meter, pay what it says and round up to the next Euro.
