We have decided that we will buy the 96 hour tram pass and we were going to buy it at the GVB office across from Centraal Station. But I recently heard that I can avoid the lines by buying it at the AKO newsagent at the airport. Has anyone done this?
Can't help with the airport newsagent, but, are you doing this in conjuction with the Amsterdam card? We just did the 48 hr pass with the card that gives free entry into the Van Gogh, Rijks, and other museums, allows you to skip the lines(esp at the Van Gogh) and it was 48 Euros, and includes the tram pass. We got it at the tourist office across from the train station, however, it did take about 20 minutes and this was in early May of this year.
Actually, we're buying the Museumkaart because we will be traveling to some other cities in the Netherlands too and we decided that was our best option. But we also want to get a transit pass.
