Hello - Taking a train 4/1/2012 from Berlin to Prague and then from there to Vienna. We've only taken the train once and loved it (in Italy) and we purchased the tickets there, the day before. Would it be wise to do that for this trip or better to order them now? Also, would someone provide the names of the major train station in each city mentioned. Thanks to all.
For Berlin-Prague on a direct ICE train, a 2nd class ticket bought at the station will cost €63.80. If you book today on the German Rail site, you can get a Europa-Spezial Tschechian fare of €29 for some departure times and €39 for others. Austrian Rail offers advance purchase 2nd class discount fare SparSchiene tickets between Prague and Vienna for €29. However, you cannot book tickets online for journeys starting in the Czech Republic. I suggest that you call the Austrian Rail call center and book the tickets over the phone. If you live in the US, dial 011 (US international access code) + 43 (Austrian country code) + 5-1717. Or you can try booking on the Czech Rail site.
Hi, If you're coming from Prague (Praha hl n) to Vienna, you'll be arriving at Wien Meidling. To get to Wien Westbahnhof (the west train station), take U-Bahn 6 at Meidling.
