bus travel in Andalucia

Does anyone have recent first-hand experience with the buses from Nerja-Ronda and Ronda-Sevilla? I have gone around in circles on the websites.

I've done a fair bit of bus travel around Andalucia, but not those exact runs. You have to go via Malaga, and there are frequent runs, but none of the companies that do Malaga-Ronda, have websites that sell tickets. You can check schedules and company names, including Nerja-Malaga, at http://www.estabus.emtsam.es. One of the companies, Los Amarillos, operates a run Malaga-Ronda-Sevilla, so you should be able to coordinate your arrival and day in Ronda with the onward trip. Amarillo has their services posted at http://www.touristbus.es/frgrsamar.htm, altho, as I say, you can't buy bus tickets on-line. One thing to remember...bus tickets in Spain come with a seat assignment, like airplanes. Week days should be pretty easy to get tickets....Fridays and Sundays a bit harder...so try and buy as early as possible in Malaga.

Just curious - do you know anything about the Nerja-Granada options? We plan to go to the Alhambra and are planning a day - hoping not to take the 6:30 am bus, but willing to do it if needed!
Thanks!

You may have to settle for the 6:30 bus if you want to make a full day of it....it arrives at 9 am. There is one at 945 that arrives at about noon...but that's half the day gone! The last bus Granada-Nerja appears to leave around 8 pm. unfortunately, none are "expresses" but not too bad for about 80 miles. From the Granada bus station (west of the downtown) take the #3 bus and ask the driver to let you off closest to Plaza Nueva, then take one of the little red shuttle buses up to the Alhambra.
