Is there a regular Paris Bus service to Val D'Europe from anywhere in Paris? I use a electric scooter and the Metro is very hard to use. To many steps to carry it up and down.
http://parisbytrain.com/files/2008/09/plan_pbs.pdf This map shows that the RER A4 station "Marne-la-Vallee" is wheelchair accessible WITH an attendant, but it's not listed on the far left as accessible...Hmmm...this would require a taxi to backtrack though. There are several accessible RER A stations in Paris proper, and some requiring an attendant. In theory. At least once you got settled in you'd be good for a while. I came up with nothing on the buses - Bus 29 only gets you so far; maybe you can piece something together from there. I found lots of info on buses from CDG... I'm guessing you may have already examined this particular transportation map, but I included it just in case you haven't. Good luck.
Yes, I have looked at a map like this. I also have a really good interactive map that shows individual routes when you click on it. It is about 3 years old and it does not show any buses going out that far. I was hoping that in the last 3 years, the routes had been extended. My idea was to park my car in the free lot and bus into Paris. My scooter will break down to 3 pieces, but it is still a pain to take apart, carry up/down stairs, reassemble, get on RER, ride to exit, and repeat the above. Bus is much easier. Open door, drive in, ride to exit, push button, drive off. Have you ridden the RER A? Do the RER trains load and unload like a Metro (think DC ) or do they have narrow, steep steps, which are not conducive to loading and unloading a scooter. (Been there done that in Italy on train from Milan to Nice). How many steps (approx) from the ground down to the train. Escalator/elevator available?
I'm looking at a photo on the Paris By Train website that shows a train at the 'Marne La Vallee' station; it's an even, 'roll-aboard'-type train carriage. No steps. A gap...Don't know if it's representative of ALL RER A; saw another picture of an RER with about 6+" of vertical gap. The following website says the Marne La Vallee station has elevators; of course, this is Paris - will they be operating?!? http://www.mouseplanet.com/tag/paris_tag.htm Wow - unless you can pick a place where RER A intersects with metro line 14 or a tram line, I don't know what to tell you. It's messy. I started looking at getting to Disneyland because there's much more info on that and you could always take a taxi if necessary (again, not at all ideal) or a bus (Bus 50, on one website). BUT, I have noticed several mentions of shuttle buses b/n Disneyland and a bunch of hotels at Val D'Europe...Accessible??? Who knows... The shopping center looks really neat! Thanks for bringing it to my attention; lots of interesting attractions. Good luck with this; you'll have earned your Mickey Mouse ears after this for sure ;-)
I will be staying at an apt. we have used before and really love in the 9th. I think I can get off close to Opera. If so, I can walk/ride the rest of the way. I will have to check maps when I get home. I am at work right now.
