We want to travel between towns in Spain and Portugal by bus if the trip is less than 4 hours. How is the bus service? Is it worth it?

Bus service in both countries is excellent, with modern coaches...although some may not have bathrooms aboard...instead, they stop every 2 hours or so for breaks. And they are cheap! Check out www.movelia.es for bus connections and prices in Spain. Not all bus companies are on this system yet, but it gets better every day. In Portugal, EVA bus lines is a big company that goes all over the country. www.eva-bus.com . In Portugal, though, the rail system is more like a large city's commuter rail network, so it may be more convenient to use the train. Go to www.cp.pt
