Has anone stayed there and what did they think of the hotel? Is three nights too much in Cochem?

"Is three nights too much in Cochem?" I don't think so, but then it depends on what you like. Do some research yourself, see what interests you. I spent 4 nights (three days) in Treis-Karden, two train stops down the river from Cochem. Spent one day in Cochem itself, touring the Reichsburg and the old town and tasting wine at Rademacher. Another day I took the train to Wittlich and the bus to the premier Riesling town of Berkastel for lunch (with wine, of course), and had dinner in Zell. I spent a last day taking the bus from Cochem to Beilstein. If it had been open that late in the year, I would have gone to Moselkern and hiked to Burg Eltz. That's at least two days worth. 'fraid I can't help you with Burg Hotel. I spent four nights in a Privatzimmer. More my style and only €27/nt, single.

A lot of people spend a week in Cochem. I once helped a family find a place to stay there for a month. They loved it. Three days will probably go quickly. To add to what Lee's said, you can also see a free-flight falconry show at Reichsburg Castle, make a side trip to the spa at Bad Bertrich, take a chairlift ride up to a lookout towering over Cochem and the river valley, take an outing to the ancient Roman city of Trier, or to Alf, where you can hike up to Arras Castle and the Marienburg lookout, where the river doubles back on itself, or take a bike ride along the riverside bike route. http://www.mosel-reisefuehrer.de/CochemerSesselbahn/default.html#Anchor-Le-19653 http://www.falknerei-reichsburg-cochem.de/fotobuch.htm http://www.arras.de/html/english.html http://www.mosel-reisefuehrer.de/moselhighengl/moselhighlightsengl.html http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Mosel_Marienburg_Umgebung.jpg&filetimestamp=20070607070658
