Does anyone know if Burg Eltz is still covered in scaffolding? We were there in Aug of 2011 and the entire front was obscured. We will be in the area next week and would gladly go back if it is uncovered. Also the Bavaria Statue in Rudesheim was completely covered. Does anyone know if that is also clear now?

(Germania, not Bavaria...) Partial answer. I was in Rüdesheim after dark a few weeks ago. Usually, monuments like that statue are illuminated at night. Nothing was visible that night, so either they forgot to turn on the lights, or they're not bothering while it remains shrouded in scaffolding.

Hi Paul,
We were at Burg Eltz with Rick's Germany, Austria and Switzerland Tour in May of 2012 and there was no scaffolding up then. It was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. Have a great trip! Teri
