We're going to be in Madrid from Mar 23-26, and it looks like there will be a bullfight on the 25th. Does anyone have any recommendations on what seats to get and if we need to buy them in advance (and which online site to use for that?)
Thanks!
We just walked up and bought tickets the day before. The seats on the southside in the shade are more expensive than on the north and east which are in the sun. Except for the sun all seats seem to be about the same.
We bought our tickets a few days in advance (for a special May 2010 event) and sat in the 3rd row. Sunny side of the ring might be warmer in March. If there are people attending who may NOT be into bullfights or are first timers, I've been told that viewing from the higher seats may suit them better. Don't forget to rent cushions. Ole!
We will be in Madrid the following week (Holy Week). Does anyone know if there are bullfights that week too? If so, where can we get tickets?
Thanks, Debbie
We bought tickets the day before at a ticket window in Plaza del Carmen near our hotel (Hotel Alcapulco.)
The ultimate bullfighting book is Earnest Hemingway,s "Death In The Afternoon". After reading it I thought I knew more about bullfighting than if I had gone to a bullfight, which I haven't done.
Don't forget to read "The Dangerous Summer". It's an interesting book about a bullfight trip to Spain written shortly before Hemingway's death.
