we have heard that the sevilla spain feria de toros 2012 has been cancelled - if so, is it possible to see
a bullfight in sevilla in late april or early May 2012?
If possible, try to time your visit during the April Fair. There are bullfights every day and everyone is all dressed up in their finest. Sevilla puts on a party and everyone wins! IMHO - not quite up to Ol' New Orleans' level though!!
Or you could just go take a tour of your local slaughter house...it's much more humane than the slow tortorous killing of the animal you'll see at a bullfight.
There are bullfights in many cities in the summer months. If there will not be any when you are in Sevilla, check Madrid or other cities' schedules to see if there will be any when you are passing through. Even when there are no bullfights, you can tour Sevilla's arena.
?! Not to my taste, but this appears to counter what you have heard - http://tauroentrada.com/index.php?cPath=4499&language=en
I've seen the same schedule, haven't heard anything about it being cancelled. I looked when I saw your post and found one reference about canceling but nothing from a source I would consider official. It looks like there are Corrida every day through the last half of April. We're in Sevilla 22-26 April and it's one of my wife's must-sees, so we plan to attend one of those days.
Seville will be the last place bull fights die out.
Sometimes I wish this forum had "like"buttons.. "like" Tims post.
Think what you like about bull fighting but it might be good to remember that it is part of the spanish culture.
I agree with you 100%. If people don't agree with bullfighting they should just avoid reading a post about it. Quite obvious what the subject was on. It's the same as the posters who warn others not to buy baggage with wheels. Just answer the question or don't reply at all!
Amen.
The bulls are eaten. I will sit on the fence re: bullfighting - but - if you are happy for members of your party to expend their money on corrida and walk out, sick, after the first fight because their was little warning of what it entailed.....
