Budget hotels Paris

I suggest you try My Apartment in Paris. The apt I used was very clean. They are business quick if they have the availabilty.

We're staying in the budget "Royal Phare" hotel in the 7th just opposite the Eco Militaire Metro stop. In June the double rooms are 79 Euro per night, and this hotel gets really good reviews on Tripadvisor. I think 79 Euro translates to $118 per www.xe.com which should fall well within your price range.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still looking at apartments, but the Hotel Phare does look like a good deal. If we stay there (1st wk. May), I'll let you know how it was!

I stayed there last May. The rooms are small, but thats Paris. It was clean, the staff was nice, and the location was great. ATM and Metro stop right out the door. I would stay there again next time I am in Paris.

Sometimes a foreign hôtel responds promptly to an e-mail inquiry, but [for whatever reason] your computer reacts as though their reply were spam. Maybe it's because they write hôtel funny. You might keep an eye out [in your spam cache] for that errant hôtel reply.

Clarification re: Hotel Alhambra....I DID hear from the hotel promptly. I did NOT hear anything from anyone on the helpline who'd stayed there or knew anything about it. Rick recommends it, but there are also some negative reviews on Tripadvisor. Another one in the area that he mentions that DOES get good reviews is Hotel du Nord et de l'est (paris-hotel-nordest.com, I think). If anyone knows about this one, let me know what you think. Thanks.
