The only direct train service is via the Thalys high-speed train. You can book up to 90 days in advance at http://www.thalys.com. If you book in advance you can get restricted tickets for as little as 25 euros.

Yes, there are buses between Brussels and Paris, less expensive than the train, but they take longer.

I took the bus from Brussels to Paris two years ago. Interesting ride. Be sure to go to toilet before you go on the bus. You really do not want to use the bus toilet. REALLY! Nice journey. You get to see the countryside, lots of windmills, nuclear power cooling towers, fields, cows, etc. Take some food and drink with you. No alcohol. I just tried to find the prices on Eurolines but nothing came up. Might want to email: [email protected] and ask about bus from Brussels to Paris. Finally found a quote. 45 to 55 Euro, depending on day and time.
