For my June travel from Brussels to Paris and back, I have priced through Thalys 460 euro for 2 adults and 3 youth- the price is higher through DBahn website. Is this a high price? could I get a better price? Thanks
I just checked thalys.com. On 2 June the lowest fare still available for several morning departures is an Optiway fare of €54.00. The €25.00 Smoove fare is still available for the last three evening departures. On 5 June the €25:00 Smoove fare is available on the first morning departure. A €45.00 Optiway fare is available for two or three later departures.
You don't say what your travel dates in June are so I can't give you exact fares. However, the lowest Smoove fare for Brussels-Paris is €25.00 each way. If you can get those fares, your total would be €125.00 each way. (Smoove fares are cheaper than standard youth fares.) Or you could take a Eurolines bus, either both ways or just one way. The single (one-way) fare would be €121.00. The return (roundtrip) fare would be €207.00. The trip takes 3hr45min.
Thanks the exact dates are June 2nd- June 5th. In USD the total through Eurorail is 730, Dbahn was 520 euros, and Thalys is 460-480euros from what I have found. Thanks for the advice
Thank you for taking time to look at the fares also- Wanting to leave around noon, the fares are a little more- that's ok. I didn't get the option for the smoove with 5 people during the times I need. Also AL like I said before I am helping my friends plan their Europe trip- they booked their airfare from a Travel agent who said flying to Belgium would save them money- I didn't advise them to take this route to get to Paris. It's a big hassle to save a few hundred dollars- oh well. now they will get to enjoy European train travel which I love.
