My husband and I will be traveling from Brussels to Paris but we'd like to make a stop at Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial in N. France. What's the best way to get there from Brussels? Should we take the train and, if so, what's the closest stop to Beaumont-Hamel?

Natasha, I've been there, a very poignant place. If you are coming by train from Brussels, take the TGV to Arras in Nord Pas-de-Calais. I was driven to see the site from Arras. You can inquire about public transportation at the Gare (main train station) in Arras or rent a car. There are car rentals outside the station. The Canadian monument at Vimy is closer to Arras.
