Any specific suggestions for parking outside of Brussels center and metroing into the center for a few hours? Somewhere relatively safe. Thanks!

There's a large parking lot for Brupark, near the Atomium in Laeken. You can take the Metro from here to the center (metro stop Heizel).
EDIT: There's a few things of interest in the immediate vicinity as well. If you have a child in tow, the kid may enjoy MiniEurope. The royal pleasent royal parklands of Domein Laeken lie just down the road from Brupark. Unlike the official palace in the center of Brussels, this is where the king and queen spend most of their time.
