My husband and I are looking for some recommendations for a nice hotel in Brussels with some charm (Two or three stars) but not any of the big chains. After 2+ weeks touring France with 2 nights in Brugges and 2 nights in Ghent, we'll be in Brussels for 3 nights the first week of September prior to heading home. We will not have a car so parking is not a requirement but being in/near the City is preferred. We also like a lift and air conditioning! Thank you!
Hi Jan, I stayed here in a few years back and thought it was very nice. I can't recall if it had a lift though. http://www.almahotel.be/index-en.html
Jan, You might also have a look at This Hotel. It's in a fantastic location, only a short walk from the Grand Place. I found the rooms to be comfortable and the service good. Happy travels!
Several years ago we stayed at the Maison Noble, a b and b. I would suggest going to tripadvisor. It appears that there are many very reasonably priced bed and breakfasts.
Thank you everyone. Some good suggestions that I've checked out. Yes, have been spending lots of time on Trip Advisor but thought I'd check with my Rick Steves friends too. I think we've found a hotel: Hotel Orts. Sounds great, gets good reviews, has a/c and a lift and is in a good central location. Appreciate your input!
We loved Les Ecrins, very quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the Grand Place. They have apartments as well as rooms.
