Brussels hotel

Our last night of a three week trip will be spent in Brussels. We are flying in to Brussels/Charleroi from Italy on a Sunday afternoon, arriving at 5:40PM. Our flight back to the US leaves the next morning. We'd like to stay somewhere in the historic center of Brussels just to get a flavor of the city and have a nice final meal. In 2010, we made the mistake of staying at an airport hotel in Frankfurt before we left for home and were sorry to have ended our wonderful trip with rubber chicken for dinner and TV in the room.
Is it worthwhile to find a place in Brussels AND any suggestions on a reasonable hotel or pension.(I'm thinking of the wonderful Pension Nossek in Vienna)?

On the weekends in Brussels, when all the business people and lobbiests are in their home countries, the four star hotels have lower rates. We stayed at the Hotel Metropole (breakfast included) last summer for the price of an Ibis, (about 120 euros instead of 300). It's a four star, art deco beauty in the center, a few minutes walk to the Grande Place.

Thanks so much! The Metropole was sold out, but we booked in the Sandton for a very reasonable rate and it is only metres from both the train and the Grand Place! I would never have looked at 4 and 5 star hotels. Thanks for the advice.
