I am planning a trip to Brugge, Belgium and I am trying to decide between the Hotel Patritius and the Dieltiens bed and breakfast. Allure of hotel is location, laundry facilities, can pay with CC. Allure of B&B is culture, socializing, personalized service. Thoughts anyone?
Did you check reviews on tripadvisor.com . I find them helpful if you read them all and take general concensus( ignore any review that seems completely at odds with majority).
If you want to stay with the Dieltiens you need to get a reservation as soon as you have dates. Several times we have had to stay elsewhere because they were full and we had only planned a month or two out. They are very popular. For good reason.
Hi Jeff, My partner and I (both 28 year old) spent 3 days in Brugge in October 2010. We stayed at a place called Hotel Keizershof. It is not a hotel as the name suggests, but a fantastic little B&B 2 mins walk from the main train station and less than 1 minute to the minnewater. Stefaan and his wife make you feel like one of the family and I HIGHLY recommend it. Here is the link www.hotelkeizershof.be? I think I came across this place in the Brugge page of Rick Steves. Hope this helps!
I checked the web page. From the photos and maps. Looks like the Patritus was where we stayed. Maybe 5 -10 min walk from lots of the sites. It was quite roomy. One of the nicer hotels we stayed in. They also have a washing machine.
Jeff, Ccheck out this B&B.
www.bb-speelmansrei-brugge.be The owner (Kees) is a great host. Big modernized rooms a short walk from the square and he gives you privacy, detailed advice, or a little of both. Loved our stay here!
