Brugge, Brussels, or Antwerp

Hello, My husband and I will be passing through Belgium from Amsterdam to Paris. We will have roughly one day and one night in one of these cities. Which would you choose and why?
Thanks and Happy Travels

I'd put them in the following order. 1) Bruges...as mentioned, a scenic wonder locked in the 17th century. 2) Brussels, OK, but tourist areas can be done in less than a day...otherwise, flooded by boring EU bureaucrats. 3) Antwerp....boring port city of interest only to diamond lovers and Canadian military historians. :)

I agree with the post above...Brugge, Brussels, then Antwerp in order. For the short amount of time you have, head to Brugge. It's beautiful!

I also agree with the above order, but I wouldn't dismiss Antwerp outright. I found Antwerp's Grand Platz more impressive than Brussels'. The cathedral is one of Europe's most under-rated, the city is full of great art, and it has probably the most active nightlife of any city in Belgium. If you're into high fashion (which I'm not), Antwerp is also one the Europe's design capitals. But of course, parts of the city are a little rough around the edges.

With only limited time in Belgium, by all means, go straight to Brugge. Consider a visit to Antwerp on a return trip.

Bruges is what everyone thinks Amsterdam is supposed to look like. Bruges absolutely.

Glad to have found your question. We chose Brugge for our 3 day trip coming up in May. Hope you enjoy yours, too.
