Has anyone visited the Lace Museum in Bruges? I saw it featured on Jeopardy today and it looked interesting.
We visited the museum several years ago. They have some very nice examples of some very intricate lace. If you're interested in going, then I would definitely recommend it. Also, there is a church just opposite the entrance to the museum that is worth stopping into.
We visited the lace museum in Bruges several years ago. It was interesting but the lace is very expensive. Be sure to avoid going during mid day as the ladies who demonstrate lace making will be away during the lunch hour (s). The church that another poster is more interesting and there is also a small museum called The Black Cat or something similar that is worth a visit--several resident cats there--in fact, all the cats in Bruges were black.
Many of the wonderful lace stores in Bruges have cabinets displaying antique lace. You might try that before deciding whether to do a whole museum, but it will probably just whet your appetite for more. I think I tried to buy a piece of different lace for each different Belgian beer my husband drank!!
