Brittany rail service.

From the maps I have found it appears that there is rail service to Loudeac Brittany, however I can not find any information on schedules or fares on Raileurope.com Is there a better source of information, or is this a freight only line? This would be a small spur line from Rennes to Saint-Brieuc to Loudeac.

You can also try the French national rail website, TGV-Europe. Just keep setting your country to Great Britain or Canada, and you will be able to see schedules and fares available, and even purchase tickets in advance, if you can find discounts. On your run, times seem to vary wildly, from 90 minutes to 3.5 hours, as do the modes of transportation. You can choose journeys that use the regional train to St. Brieuc, then a bus to Loudeac.....buses on both legs....or TGV on the first leg, then bus on the second. Fare is 21 Euro....but there is an 18 Euro deal if you want to take the TGV-connected train (journey time, 2.5 hours). If not, then you can purchase your tickets at the station in Rennes.
RailEurope is the worst site to use when looking for point to point schedules or prices, since it lists only the routes for which it will sell tickets (at a much higher price than available frpm the national websites), and will not list any discounts that might be available. Best to choose the national rail website of the country in which you're travelling or, as suggested earlier, the German rail website, Deutsche Bahn (for schedules)
