Has anyone been to Brittany ?
Where are the nicest locations? Thinking of the cote , d , armor and in southern finestere near Quimper , any thoughts.? Would like to rent a cottage for a week or 4 day stay in a hotel. Any ideas Merci beaucoup, Carole

Will you have a car?
I'm more familiar with the coast line from St Malo to Morlaix than with the western and southern parts and could give you some tipps on that area if you're interested. However, it's much more accessible if you have a car.

Being pre-history aficionados, we enjoyed the area around the Gulf of Morbihan. You can day-trip from the Quimper area. We also like Dinan and St. Malo. Paimpol and the Ile de Brehat were recommended to us, but we didn't have the time. If you check out the Gites de France website, you will find lots of listings for cottages and b&bs.

We we're there in august 2006, we had a wonderful time in the cote d'armor, it is very lovely, nice litte village, good food, we stayed around Ploumanach, there is lots of bed and breakfast to choose from. we also went north to Morbihan and visited the town of Carnac with is famous menhir...we all liked it! it is a nice little town with lots of things to do and a nice beach.

We will be driving around the edge of Brittany from Carnac to Dinan on June 22--27 with three two-night stops. I will be happy to let you know how the trip went when we return on July 4, if that is helpful.
