Considering staying the night in Bordeaux and taking the train to the Paris airport the morning of a flight that leaves at 14:15hrs. I was wondering how much time it would take to transfer from the train in terminal 2 to checkin at terminal 1? Also any ideas as to convenient hotel near train station since train leaves early in morning. Will not have car in Bordeaux since I will return probably afternoon before.
The only TGV that I could see that might meet your needs when playing with the DB schedule for a random midweek date is one that leaves Bordeaux at 7:50 and arrives at CDG at 12:09. That is cutting it pretty close. I guess you could do it, but it looks stressful to me. Why not TGV closer to Paris the afternoon before, say Tours/St Pierre des Corps and spend the night in Amboise? Then the next morning you could get to the airport in plenty of time.
I think I just saw a train that leaves Bordeaux at 6:33hrs. and arrives at 10:53hrs. If that's available then that would probably be the best. The only other question is where to stay in order to get to trhe train station that early.
The 06:33 TGV runs seven days a week. The free CDGVAL driverless shuttle trains that connect all the terminals run every four minutes during the day. The ride from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 takes eight minutes.
