Can we use booster care seats from the US for a 7 year old when we drive in Europe? I'd rather carry mine than pay daily rental charges to the car rental agency since we have a 2 week trip.
Thanks.
Most (all ?) countries in europe use the same UN standard for child restraints.
Europe is switching / has switched to an attachement system for what I'd call 'baby seats' that is different from that used in the U. S. I'm unsure how a booster seat attaches, or if it's just something that uses the regular seat belt.
See if this helps:http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/law/index.htm#kids311.
I'm stretching my memory for this one Ania - but I seem to remember there was some sort of sticker/designation on the ones good for the US, and UK/Europe, indicating that they were alright. You might try Googling that.
