My flight to ORD departs about 10:00am on Saturday morning. I do not like feeling "rushed" at airports and would like to look around Schipol a bit, so I want to spend the night near/at Schipol. Budget-wise, of course! What are the best ways to find good hotel deals? Venere.com gives the Raddison at $110 for the night (one person). Are there other ways to book a good deal for one person on a Friday night in June? Booking.com? Or at specific hotel websites? Cheers!
Yes, but what's the best way to book the lowest price? Directly with the hotel, or with a booking site? And if so, which booking site have people had good luck with?
Let me restate my question: for a hotel near Schiphol, obviously I can go to the hotel's website and book a room at rack rate. But are there other ways -- booking.com, Venere.com, etc -- that give more favourable rates? And if so, can someone recommend a booking site with which they have had a good, reliable experience? Thank you.
I can tell you I have stayed at that Radison, and it was nice. Very convenient - you just take a shuttle bus from right outside the terminals. You might want to check their website several times ... sometimes deals pop up.
I've used booking.com successfully many times. They have many listings for Schiphol airport. Some hotels may have lower rates for certain days or seasons. Just go to booking.com, plug in your required date, and shop the list.
Swan, Thank you for your endorsement of booking.com, which is indeed showing a better rate for the Radisson than is the hotel site directly.
Ibis is cheap and has a shuttle. Ibis.com
I have stayed at the SAS Raddison and it was a good hotel with a pleasant bar/restaurant and a shuttle. I would also recommend checking the Novotel/Mercure hotels in the area. I have stayed at one only about 5 minutes away and it was also very comfortable and
provided a shuttle.
You seem to have decided that you need to stay out at the airport. That said, I do want to make sure that you know how really, really, really easy it is to take the train from Amsterdam to the airport. I caught a 8 AM flight to the UK one time. I stayed at a hotel that was a ten minute walk from the station. It's nice to have that last meal in the city before the trip home which is why I prefer to stay in town. Pam
Hi,
I returned a month ago from Amsterdam. My friend and I stayed at the airport in Hotel M. It was an extremely nice hotel, very clean, comfortable, new age, quiet and a quick walk to the terminal. I think my friend may have booked it through booking.com. I would stay there again.
