I am currently attempting to book a place in munich. Not a hotel, but a b&b type place. It seems that the owner, or the representative, requires a wired down payment to a bank account that they provide once you have confirmed the reservation. Apparelty this is typical of Munich b&bs. This has never happened to me before, and I am finding that it is a major hassle to wire funds outside of the states. Does anybody have any experience with this?
"Does anybody have any experience with this?" . . . . . . Yeah, it's never happened to me. Nowhere in Germany in 10 years. This is not typical. Where did you find this Bozo?
I am wondering if it is an Oktoberfest thing. Trying to book from America with the time difference is crazy. I have already lost about three places because of the time difference, but each place would have had me wire a down payment for the flat, which I find very difficult to do, and very costly. I am using predominantly www.bedandbreakfast.de as they seem to have alot of choices, although not anymore.
Are you trying to book in Munich for the upcoming Oktoberfest?
Yes, I have already booked. I just need to wire my down payment. There wasnt much left I can tell you.
