Reading online there is now a body scanner at CDG airport for all passengers returning to USA. Is this true? Does everyone have to go thru it? If you wear a money belt under your clothes, did you have to take it off?
Thanks for info. Karen
A body scanner can see thru all of your clothes, see you completely naked so you don't have to take off belts, money belts etc. anymore. This is meant to speed up security. But the fact that they severely intrude your privacy is a reason why they're not deployed in every country yet. Germans, e.g. have a serious issue with it. (Top-less sun bathing may be one thing but...)
Do the people viewing the scans carry nitroglycerine? Someone is gonna need it when I go through...unless of course I lose "a little" weight which of course, could happen.
However, be aware that it will depend on the operator. If you are wearing a moneybelt and the operator viewing can't figure out what it is, you will be subject to a full search and pat down.
When I get to the airport, I stop in the toilet, take my moneybelt off and put it in the bottom of my carry-on. Once through, I make another stop and put it back on.
The easier I can make it for airport security, the easier it is for me.
We just went through CDG security today and there were no full body scanners at least a gate 20-28
Our connecting flight in Charlotte, NC seemed to have them but they were not in use.
