Has anyone gone on a boat tour in Cassis? If so, is there one you would recommend? We would like one that stops in a bay and lets you swim. Is there a boat tour like that?
Last September my wife and I took a boat tour of the Calanques. It was beautiful. You buy tickets in a booth adjacent to the harbor in a little park where old men play petanque. I don't remember if one of the tours had a stay where you can swim. There were many different types of tours available and I wasn't really looking for it. Even if they don't have it available check Rick's book. You can take a trail to the Calanque and spend the whole day there if you want. I think that if you are in fire season they may restrict access sometimes. There is a helpful (and large) tourist information where the boats enter the harbor out near the breakwater.... a 5 minute walk from the boat rental stand. I'm sure you can find what you need there.
Bon Voyage!!
We were in Cassis in October 09. We looked at the boat tours to the calanques, but my sister really wanted to hike to them. I'm not sure if any let you swim and that's what we definitely wanted to do, so we hiked to the second calanque which is Port-Pin. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm and the water was crystal clear and wonderful to swim in. It took about 1 hour 45 minutes to hike there from town, but it was well worth it!
