I am traveling to Munich April 6 and would like to go to the BMW Factory Tour. I tried to call the German phone number (+49(0)1802 118822 ) yesterday but there was a recording in German and then it hung up without being able leave a message. Anyone have any suggestions to make a reservation for the tour?

Outside Germany you don't dial the (0), so you would just dial 49-1802-118822. I just tried it and it worked. They had their hours and told you to leave a message if they don't answer.
