blow dryers

Hello! I am a student who will be in France for a time. I must confess that I have a question regarding vanity...

Last time I was in Europe, the English blow dryers and hair straighteners that we used were very hot; they damaged my hair. Other acquaintances of mine have had the same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I should go about straightening my hair while in Paris?

any suggestions will be appreciated!

(I promise I am not as shallow as this post may let on)

Get a dual voltage straightener from here. You will only need the European adapter, not the converter.

Alexina, Bea's right on the money!
If you're going to be there for a while, bring your own, but make sure its a dual voltage.

Be aware, though, that a dual voltage dryer will only run on "low" on 250v current. If you're going to be there for awhile, you might want to investigate buying one there.

Brookstone has a 1875watt travel dryer that is "true" dual voltage. It states specifically that you can use it on European voltage (250) on either low or high settings. I double checked with the sales staff and they confirmed. Let's hope they're right! It costs $45, which isn't too bad. I just purchased a dual voltage flat iron from Magellan's catalog. I am nervous about it, because I have read numerous posts that they tend to burn up, but my frizzy hair needs all the help it can get! Don't apologize for vanity - you are not shallow. I've noticed some people on this helpline tend to preach a little too quickly!
