Anyone been on one of the Bleu Envasion boat trips out of the Old Port in Marseilles?
We are renting a car for our 10 days in Provence and will be staying in various locations for 2-3 days at a time, then doing day trips from each location. Is it worth is to drive into Marseilles from Arles, take the boat trip, then spend the night in Cassis?
I don’t know about the boat company but I assume that if it goes from Marseille to Cassis it will include a visit to the Calanques de Cassis (a series of narrow fjord-like bays between the two places). The whole area is a UNESCO designated natural site, and also a National Park.
I have been there (over land, not by boat) and it is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and would definitely recommend it. There are many photos of the area on the internet which may help you decide.
